🛍️ Essential Supplies Checklist

Personal Gear

  • Lightweight backpack with hip support with space for daily essentials
  • Sandals or flip-flops for evenings
  • Face masks (for dust or health concerns)
  • 2 pairs of Comfortable walking shoes – You’ll be covering long distances daily.
  • Water bottle – Hydration is critical; bring a refillable one.
  • Snacks – High-protein and high-energy snacks like trail mix or granola bars.
  • Weather-appropriate clothing – Be ready for sun, rain, or cold.
  • Sun protection – Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
  • First aid kit – Include band-aids, blister pads, and pain relievers

Hygiene & Health

  • Toilet paper and/or wet wipes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Biodegradable soap & towel
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste
  • First aid kit (include blister care)
  • Any necessary prescriptions
  • Bug spray / tick repellent
  • Refillable water bottle or hydration pack
  • Electrolyte supplements

Sleeping & Rest

  • Lightweight tent or bivy sack
  • Summer-rated sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad or roll
  • Earplugs & sleep mask
  • Optional: Hammock with bug net

Sleeping Options

  • Reserve public campgrounds or partner with local hosts
  • Coordinate with churches or civic buildings for indoor shelter
  • Use tents in designated safe outdoor locations
  • Hotels/motels for rest or emergency days
  • Use support vehicles for gear and overnight supply

Food & Cooking

  • High-calorie, non-perishable snacks
  • Camp stove or portable burner
  • Reusable bowl, cup, utensils

  • Community meal coordination encouraged

🚽 Bathroom & Hygiene

  • Utilize gas stations, stores, public parks where available
  • Support vehicles or organizers may provide portable toilets
  • Practice Leave No Trace for wilderness areas (dig holes, pack out paper)
  • Seek rest stops at churches or community centers with restrooms

⚖️ Support & Safety Team Roles

  • Rotating support vehicle team for water, medical aid, rest
  • Volunteer medics to monitor walkers’ health
  • Logistics coordinator for campsites and daily planning
  • Outreach coordinators to partner with local resources
  • Communications team to update social media & news
